Jaeger Lecoultre Watches

Since the 19th century the origins of ‘Jaeger-LeCoultre’ have been recognised in the Swiss ‘Vallée de Joux’ as the ‘Grande Maiso’ First founded in 1833 by Antoine LeCoultre, the company has a long and illustrious history and is celebrated as one of the principal and most inventive players in the field of Haute Horlogerie.

Antoine LeCoultre was a talented young inventor and used the basis of his small watchmaking workshop in Le Sentier to perfect his horological skills in creating high-quality timepieces. His pioneering spirit guided him towards numerous remarkable achievements: In 1844, he invented the world's most accurate measuring instrument known as the ‘Millionomètre’. In 1847 he created a keyless system to rewind and set watches and in 1851, in recognition of his work related to timepiece precision and mechanization, he was awarded a gold medal at the first Universal Exhibition in London.

LeCoultre’s initial collaboration with Jaegar came later when, in 1903, the firm took up Edmond Jaeger’s challenge to refine and produce the ultra-thin movements that he had invented. This resulted in the production of a collection of particularly slim pocket watches, including the thinnest in the world in 1907. The fruitful association between Jaeger and LeCoultre eventually led to the company being officially renamed ‘Jaeger-LeCoultre ‘in 1937.

From this point onwards Jaeger-LeCoultrehas maintained their brand at the forefront of the Swiss watchmaking industry. Innovation is clearly the key to the company’s success, with: over 1,242 different calibers invented, the registration of approximately 400 patents and hundreds of new designs created to date, Jaegar- LeCoultre is a dynamic force to be reckoned with.

Of course, to remain competitive within the rarified word of Haute Horlogerie, innovation must be equally matched by style. Jaeger-LeCoultre wristwatches have always been coveted for their stunning designs. The diversity and originality shown in their current portfolio is simply breathtaking. From: the elegant ‘Reverso’ with its art deco influences through to the incomparable beauty of the ‘Hybris Artistica’ collection and the unparalleled creativity of the ‘Hybris Mechanica’ range, there is undoubtedly something to suit all tastes.

By adopting innovation as a guiding principal and continually striving for individuality and excellence, Jaeger-LeCoultre remains at the forefront of luxury Swiss watch manufacture
